Job Description
The Hazelton Hotel is looking for an extraordinary Registered Massage Therapist to join our Spa Team. Our ideal candidate takes a genuine interest in the care of their clients and is always looking for opportunities to elevate someone’s day. This person has the ability to create calm and ease pain through the magic of their hands and their personality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform massages and body treatments in accordance with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) standards.
- Adhere to the standard of hygiene established by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly sanitized or discarded.
- Ensure an extraordinary spa experience for all guests.
- Assess clients by conducting range of motion and muscle tests and propose treatment plans.
- Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients.
- Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques for further postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation and rehabilitative exercises.
- Advise clients on skin and body care.
- Maintain treatment records for each guest.
- Maintain a positive and caring work environment with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude.
- Comply with all hotel policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Two (2) years’ experience as a massage therapist in a luxury spa / health club;
- Knowledge of various massage treatments an asset (e.g. Thai Massage, Foot Reflexology Massage, Stretch Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Facial Massage, and/or Aroma Oil Massage);
- Registered and in good standing with the CMTO;
- Registered Massage Therapy diploma to meet Provincial regulations and/or accredited associations;
- Fluency in reading, writing, and spoken English is required;
- Flexible schedule;
- Positive working attitude; and
- Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
Compensation: You will be paid an hourly rate (regardless if you are performing a treatment or not) plus a competitive commission per service, plus gratuities.
Other: Uniforms, products and linens are provided by the spa. A Spa Receptionist schedules and organizes your day.
Hours: The spa is open from 7am to 7pm for services, Mon-Fri, 8am to 7pm, Saturdays and 9am to 7pm, Sundays.
